Clementine by Sara Pennypacker

If you like Ramona......you'll love Clementine!

Clementine by Sara Pennypacker is about an eight-year-old whose life is complicated by a three-year-old brother and a fourth-grade friend. You'll laugh as Clementine tries to help her friend with a haircut gone wrong, and cheer as she joins her father in his battle against the pigeons at their apartment building.
Ask your favorite grown-up to read this out loud to you -- he or she will love it too! (A sequel just came out and I can't wait to get my hands on it.)

I have heard that some people don't like this book very much because of its irreverant tone. I'd like to hear what others of you think.

Seriously? There is someone in the world who doesn't love this book?

I'm kind of flabbergasted. I've read more children's books than most children, and this is one of the best - possible THE best - book for this age group ever written.

When I worked in a bookstore, I used to hook customers by telling them that if I read them the first page and they weren't hooked, I'd be surprised. Nearly everyone I read it to bought it. Some of them bought two.

It doesn't get any better than Clementine.
